Drugs aren't the issue, really. It is our intent and desire. We can take even the most innocent thing and make it sinful and that is what we do with drugs. They aren't implicite in our desire. We are. Smoking is bad for you, but then again so is a cheese burger and sugar is highly addictive. We have a tendency to lump everything together and then ingnore our own arguments as applied to the things we give a pass. God's people were never told to abstain from wine and there are places where wine is commanded to drink. Wine is fermented grape juice and was understood as such as they could not keep grape juice fresh and unspoiled. We must use balance when we read the scriptures or else we come to accusations and we find ourself at odds with the very scripture we try to use.
